We treat the cause rather than the crease. Most nasolabial folds are a cheek problem.
Allow half an hour to an hour, and a day or two of swelling afterwards. You see the change straight away, it settles at two weeks, and it lasts nine to eighteen months.
Bone recedes, fat pads shrink and descend, and the skin that used to sit over them starts to fold. Filler replaces the lost support underneath, so the fold it was creating relaxes on its own.
Placed well, filler should be invisible and unfeelable. It should also be dissolvable, which is why we use hyaluronic acid and nothing permanent.
Cheeks and midface, chin and jawline, tear troughs, temples, nose-to-mouth folds and marionette lines. We also treat the nose without surgery, and we can dissolve work placed elsewhere.
Tear troughs are assessed carefully, and often the answer is to treat the cheek instead. A hollow caused by fluid or a descended cheek gets worse when it is filled directly.
We photograph, assess you sitting upright, and mark. Most areas are treated with a blunt cannula through one or two entry points, which lowers bruising and is considerably more comfortable than it sounds. Numbing cream is applied first and the gel contains anaesthetic.
You will see the change before you leave. You will also be slightly swollen, which is normal and not the final result.
No exercise, alcohol, heat or facials for forty-eight hours. Sleep on your back for two nights if you can.
Swelling peaks the morning after and settles over two to three days. Bruising, if it happens, covers with make-up from day two.
We do not do full-face filler in one appointment. Building in stages across a few months costs the same, looks better, and is far easier to steer.
Everything we place can be removed. If you dislike the result, dissolving is available here, and if we placed it, it is free for six months.
