INJECTIONS
A prescription muscle relaxant, placed in small, mapped doses, to soften the lines that form when you frown, squint or raise your brows.
We dose low and review at two weeks. You should still look like you are listening.
It takes fifteen to thirty minutes, there is no downtime, and the change appears between day three and day fourteen. It lasts three to four months.
The injected muscle stops receiving the signal that tells it to contract. Over the following fortnight the skin above it stops being folded several thousand times a day, and the line it was folding into softens.
It works on lines of expression. Lines carved by sun damage or by lost volume need something else, and we will tell you which.
Forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and lines at the outer eye are the three classic areas. Beyond those, smaller doses can lift a heavy brow, soften a dimpled chin, turn up a downturned mouth corner, or slim a strong jaw.
Functional work — jaw clenching, grinding, and excessive sweating — is treated here too, and usually matters more to people than the cosmetic result.
We photograph you at rest and moving, mark the muscles while you make faces at us, and inject with a very fine needle. Most people describe it as a series of quick pinches. No anaesthetic is needed and the whole thing takes under half an hour.
You can drive, work and go straight back out afterwards. We ask you to stay upright for four hours and to leave the area alone for the rest of the day.
No rubbing, no facials, no saunas and no lying flat for the rest of the day. Exercise the following morning is fine.
Expect small raised bumps for twenty minutes and, occasionally, a bruise. Movement begins to fade from day three and settles by day fourteen, which is when we see you again.
Your two-week review is included. If a brow sits a little heavy or one side has softened more than the other, that is adjusted then at no cost.
Repeating too soon is the most common mistake we see. Left at three to four monthly intervals, most people need less product each year, not more.
